Electric mobility is a key technology in transportation and plays a central role in the transition to sustainable and low-emission mobility. The shift from conventional to battery-electric drive technology contributes significantly to reducing CO2 emissions in transportation and, in turn, to achieving national and international climate protection goals. Electric mobility also opens up significant industrial policy opportunities for Germany as a business location. It is therefore a declared goal of the federal government to establish Germany as a leading market and leading supplier of electric mobility.
